La Vida Aloha is a lifestyle brand created by Lennie Collins, from Kauai, Hawaii. Originally from Carlsbad, CA, she was seamstress from a young age, learning the ropes of sewing on industrial machines from neighbors who owned a custom sewing business, to backpack factories and a gig at Ocean Pacific, where she learned to love sewing with knits and jersey.

They say that necessity is the mother of invention, so with limited styles of swimwear in the 1970’s, she started making her own. It was not easy finding the right textiles for bikini making back then. She would comb the thrift shops for vintage muumuu, take it apart, and make little cotton string bikinis.

She lives in the land of bikinis, endless summers, surf, crazy sunsets and a culture that mimics her own Mexican roots, hence the name, LA VIDA ALOHA.

A confirmed textile junkie, she selects pieces to compliment her handmade patterns. From vintage to organic textiles and everything in between, her designs are chic and simple enough to go from the beachside to table side.

All styles are patterned, designed and constructed on the island of Kaua`i.

Aloha and thank you for visiting our website.
